Money Matters

Coming to university is a big financial commitment, and it is important for students to manage their money carefully. Salford has launched a new Student Finance Budget Calculator to support our students to budget effectively.

The calculator is designed to help new undergraduate students to understand what package of funding they may receive from Student Finance England, it displays Salford’s undergraduate scholarship offerings for 2013/14 onwards, tells students about additional funding such as the Access to Learning Fund and sources of alternative funding, e.g. for care leavers or postgraduates.

Student Life can offer advice on a range of issues, including money and finance. More information can been found on the Money Matters webpage where there are links to guides and further information on UK/EU student financing and also guides on international student finance.

There is also information on how to pay your tuition fees if you are a self-funding, postgraduate or international student and there are useful links to external web pages relating to budgeting, saving money and what to do if you are in difficulty.
